Everything you need to know about supporting your child at CPA FC.
We want every player to have a positive experience at the club. This page covers the key information parents and carers need for training, matchdays, communication and supporting their child.
Boys’ training is usually held on Saturdays and girls’ training on Sundays. Days, times and venues can vary by age group and team.
Please speak to your child’s team manager if you are unsure about their training arrangements.
Please ensure players arrive in enough time to be ready for the agreed start time.
If your child cannot attend training or a match, please let the team manager or coach know as early as possible.
Training arrangements can sometimes change because of weather, pitch availability or other circumstances. Please check team messages before travelling.
Please do not leave a child at a training session unless you are satisfied that the appropriate team officials are present and the session is going ahead.
Football boots suitable for the playing surface
Shin pads (Mandatory)
Plenty of water
Appropriate clothing for the weather
A light snack where appropriate
CPA FC kit when required for matches
Match arrangements vary between teams, competitions and age groups.
Your team manager or coach will share match details with parents and carers before each fixture, including the venue, kick-off time, required arrival time, pitch information, squad information where applicable and any other matchday instructions.
Please arrive at the agreed time so players have enough time to prepare, organise their equipment and warm up properly.
Teams may play at different venues throughout the season, so please check the location before travelling.
If you are having difficulty getting your child to an away fixture, please speak to the team manager as early as possible. Where practical, coaches and parents may be able to help find a solution.
Please help younger players check their equipment before leaving home. As players get older, we encourage them to take increasing responsibility for preparing and packing their own kit.
Parents and carers can make a huge difference to a young player’s experience of grassroots football. We ask everyone to help create a positive, supportive environment where children can enjoy the game and develop with confidence.
Show respect to players, coaches, officials, opponents and other families.
Praise effort, learning and improvement, not just results.
Help create a welcoming environment where every child feels they belong.
Encourage children positively through both good and difficult moments.
Help keep football fun and something children look forward to.
Team managers will use the agreed team communication channels to share training, match and club information.
This may include WhatsApp groups or other agreed team communication channels for training information, match arrangements, player availability, changes to timings or venues and team announcements.
Please keep team groups focused on relevant football information and communicate respectfully at all times.
If you have a concern about your child, another player or a team matter, please contact the team manager directly rather than discussing individual children in a group chat.
CPA FC may occasionally share appropriate photographs and short video clips from training, matches and club activities on official club or team social media channels.
If you have any concerns about your child appearing in photographs or video, please speak privately with your child’s team manager or the club.
Parents and carers should also be mindful when taking or sharing photographs or videos that include other children. Please follow any instructions given by the club, league, venue or team officials.
Team fees help contribute towards the costs of providing grassroots football, which include pitch hire, equipment, league and competition costs and team administration.
Payment is due on the 1st of each month and must be paid no later than the second Saturday of that month, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in advance.
If you have difficulty making a payment or need to discuss anything confidentially, please speak to the team manager or club privately.
CPA FC is committed to helping players learn, develop and enjoy their football.
Development is about more than match results. Coaches may consider factors such as training attendance, effort and attitude, commitment and reliability, player development, registration and competition requirements, and the needs of the team.
Parents and carers are encouraged to support the development process and speak directly with coaches if they have questions about their child’s progress.
The welfare of every child comes first at CPA FC.
If you have a safeguarding concern or would like information about our safeguarding arrangements, please visit our Safeguarding page.
If a child is in immediate danger, call 999.
If your child is interested in joining CPA FC, please complete the appropriate registration form.
Completing a form does not automatically guarantee a place within a particular team. The club or relevant team will contact you about availability and the next steps.
Thank you for supporting your child and CPA FC.
Grassroots football works best when players, coaches and families work together. Your encouragement, communication and support help us create an environment where young people can develop as footballers, teammates and individuals.
